I’m Emma and I am an Archaeologist, Historian and Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
I am qualified in Roman Archaeology and other disciplines in History, Heritage and Museum Study related subjects. I’ve spent a good part of my career working in National Museums, including the British Museum and other academic institutions including universities and historic houses. I have also written 13 history and archaeology related books mostly around the topic of food history. I have appeared in the media on numerous occasions including national and international radio and television, as well as writing articles for well-known publications like The Times newspaper and BBC History magazine.
More importantly, I like to have fun with education and I am never more at home than when I’m visiting historic sites, listening to podcasts, trawling through YouTube, playing interactive games, rolling up my sleeves for some impromptu cookery experiments and getting messy with crafts!
